Job summary

Libs Paving Company, Inc. in Indiana seeks an experienced lab/quality control professional to run daily PC testing on virgin materials and asphalt mixtures, and to communicate with State and city officials and engineers.

You will keep data organized for planning and costs, and collaborate with Libs Paving and ASCO management on design needs. Responsibilities include performing testing in lab and on-site for municipal, INDOT, and KYTC projects, designing mixes in-house, and maintaining quality

Qualifications

• Five-year minimum Quality Lab Experience in Hot Asphalt Mixture.
• Mix Design certification preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain INDOT and KYTC lab certifications.
• Must be proficient in basic math.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.
• Must be dependable with good attendance and punctuality.
• Construction industry experience knowledge or training required.

Job Summary

Position will contain, but will not be limited to, running daily PCs on virgin materials and asphalt mixtures; Communicating with State/City Officials and Engineers. Will keep data organized for future planning and costing of asphalt mixtures and work directly with Libs Paving and ASCO management on design needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (will include but not limited to)

• Perform all testing in lab and on site as required for municipal, INDOT and KYTC Projects.
• Design all private, INDOT and KYTC mixes in house for maximum cost effectiveness and quality. Explore newer technologies for cost savings.
• Full Volumetric Testing.
• Design new asphalt mixes to increase efficiencies.
• Working with State Inspectors, Public Works Inspectors, State Engineers, and District Engineers. Upload JMF to State entities and have experience working with AMAW’s.
• Understand how to run/teach PQI operations.
• Daily/weekly quality control of mixes to ensure/confirm mixes produced are within spec. Daily/weekly cost control of mixes to ensure /confirm mixes are being produced as cost effectively as possible while maintaining quality and workability for crews (Moistures, gradations, extractions, etc.) Proactively obtain feedback from asphalt paving crews on a regular basis and report back to GM. Working as a Team Member with asphalt plant team members.
• Keep an open line of communication with parent company, Libs Paving.
• Assist with other Asphalt Plant operations, as necessary.

Qualifications, Education And Physical Demands
