Job summary

HRI, INC. in the State College area seeks a Roller Operator to safely operate the roller, coordinate with the density technician, and adjust amplitude and frequency for the compaction of hot mix asphalt or aggregate bases.

This hourly, non-exempt role works under direct and indirect supervision on various job sites. Candidates should have a valid driver’s license, complete PennDOT Flagger Training, and biannual paving safety training.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Preferred paving or heavy equipment experience.
• Must complete PennDOT Flagger Training Course.
• Biannual Paving Training required.
• Behavior Based Safety - Tool Box Talk required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the roller and maximize efficiency.
• Coordinate with density technician on density results.
• Adjust amplitude and frequency (VPM) for proper compaction.
• Perform pre-shift inspections and daily walk-arounds.
• Work in live traffic and ensure safety compliance.
• Travel to multiple job sites and work overtime as needed.
