Job summary

APAC-Atlantic, part of CRH's South Division, is seeking a General Laborer to perform construction duties on highway and utility projects in Coastal Georgia. The role requires manual tasks performed under supervisor guidance on-site.

Responsibilities include ground preparation, asphalt application support, safety setup, and equipment operation when trained. Shift flexibility is required to accommodate project needs.

Qualifications

• Prepares ground surfaces for road building and removes debris.
• Operates ground compactors, levels dirt, sets string markers and removes items in paved area.
• Sets up fencing, barricades, and safety cones to block off work area as needed.
• Prepares manhole covers, openings and water lines; may insert risers as needed.
• Walks behind paver to shovel and rake asphalt as applied; levels asphalt with rake.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform a variety of construction duties to assist highway, utility, or on-site plant crews.
• Follow supervisor instructions; work with minimal direct supervision on simple tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of tools and equipment; assist with operating equipment if trained.
• Perform other laborer tasks such as cutting concrete or asphalt with a saw, sweeping.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience in construction or operating equipment
