Job summary

Aviator Paving, a division of Cardinal Infrastructure Group, is hiring a Paving Laborer in Raleigh, NC. This role supports grading, asphalt paving, curb and sidewalk work, and site preparation under the Foreman’s direction.

No prior construction experience is required; a willingness to learn and strong reliability are essential. You'll work on active paving sites, maintain safety protocols, and assist with concrete curb/gutter tasks, milling, patching, and traffic control.

Qualifications

• No prior construction experience required; willingness to learn.
• Follow verbal/written instructions and work effectively as part of a crew.
• Able to perform the physical demands of outdoor work in varying weather.
• Able to operate basic hand tools and power tools after training.
• Must be 18 years of age and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare job sites before, during, and after work by clearing debris, setting up work areas, and staging materials.
• Hand-grade and fine-grade subgrade and stone base; spread and compact stone to specified lines and grades.
• Rake, lute, and shovel hot asphalt behind the paver; finish edges and joints for a smooth surface.
• Assist with milling, patching, crack sealing, and pavement repairs.
• Assist with forming, pouring, and finishing concrete curb and gutter, sidewalks, and flatwork.
• Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment; operate hand tools and small power tools safely.
• Set up and remove traffic control devices; assist as flagger when trained.
