Job description

What You’ll Do

• Support asphalt paving operations, including raking, shoveling, sweeping, and handwork to achieve proper grades, joints, and finishes
• Assist with setup, flagging, traffic control, and site housekeeping to maintain a safe, efficient work zone
• Load/unload materials; place and compact asphalt; tack and prep surfaces
• Operate or spot for small tools/equipment (plate tamper, broom, cutoff saw, blowers); assist with screed and paver as directed
• Follow directions from the Foreman; work effectively with crew to meet production and quality targets
• Perform daily equipment/tool inspections; report issues promptly
• Comply with all safety policies, PPE requirements, and DOT/OSHA guidelines

What You’ll Bring

• 6+ months of construction, paving, or outdoor labor experience preferred; we will train motivated candidates
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions, around heavy equipment, on your feet for long periods, and lift 50–75 lbs regularly
• Reliable transportation to job sites and punctual, consistent attendance
• Strong work ethic, teamwork, and communication skills
• Comfortable working early mornings, overtime, and occasional nights/weekends as needed
• Valid driver’s license preferred; ability to pass pre-employment screening

Nice to Have

• Experience with asphalt raking/finish work, tack, compaction, or screed support
• Familiarity with work zone traffic control and flagging
• Current OSHA 10 or flagger certification
• CDL Class A or B is a plus
