Job summary

Delaware Valley Paving in Phoenixville, PA seeks an experienced Paving Foreman to lead daily asphalt operations in the field. You will direct crews, coordinate equipment, and ensure work meets project specs and safety standards.

This role requires hands-on paving experience, strong field leadership, and the ability to manage crews and equipment in a fast-paced construction environment; occasional travel to multiple job sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Previous asphalt paving experience required.
• Experience as a Paving Foreman or Lead Operator preferred.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt paving operations, production methods, and quality standards.
• Experience directing paving crews and coordinating manpower, equipment, materials, and trucking.
• Ability to read and understand project plans, specifications, grades, and job requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to operate paving and heavy construction equipment when needed.
• Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime.
• Willingness to travel to various job sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise paving crews during daily field operations.
• Assign responsibilities to operators, laborers, and other crew members based on project needs.
• Provide clear direction to crew members and ensure responsibilities are understood.
• Coordinate daily paving activities including jobsite prep, asphalt placement, grading, rolling, compacting, and cleanup.
• Monitor crew performance and productivity throughout the workday.
• Train and mentor crew members on paving techniques, safety procedures, and company expectations.
• Maintain a professional and productive work environment while holding crew members accountable.
• Assist with paving and equipment operation to maintain production.
• Review daily project requirements with the Superintendent/Project Manager.
• Ensure operations meet grades, elevations, and project specifications.
• Monitor material deliveries and coordinate trucking to minimize delays.
• Track daily production and report progress to leadership.
• Ensure jobsites are prepared, organized, and cleaned throughout the project.
