Job summary

Adams Construction Company in Virginia is seeking an Equipment Operator to join the paving crew and operate heavy paving machinery such as motor graders, bulldozers, scrapers, shovels, front-end loaders, and paving machines to lay asphalt on road beds and parking areas. The role requires proven experience (3+ years) on heavy equipment, the ability to read project plans, and a valid driver's license (CDL preferred).

Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience (minimum three (3) years) operating heavy equipment.
• Ability to read project plans and understand grade control.
• Must possess a valid driver7s license, have an acceptable driving record, CDL preferred.
• Candidates must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and random tests if selected.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt paving equipment and heavy machinery with precision.
• Control material flow, speed and direction to meet project specs.
• Perform daily maintenance and report malfunctions.
• Coordinate with dump truck driver, screed operator and foreman.
• Load materials and monitor fuel and lubrication needs.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain worksite order.
