Job summary

Pave America is hiring a Paving Equipment Operator to operate machinery for asphalt roads, parking lots, and other paved surfaces. You will safely operate pavers, rollers, skid steers and compactors, and assist with grade markings and compaction.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of paving or heavy equipment experience, strong safety focus, reliable work ethic, and the ability to work long hours, weekends, and travel when needed. CDL is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating paving or heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment including Mini excavators, Pavers, Skid steers and Forklifts depending on project needs
• Perform daily equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and report issues promptly
• Load, unload, and position equipment safely on job sites
• Work with the paving crew to ensure even asphalt distribution, proper compaction, and smooth finish
• Follow grade markers and layout specifications to achieve desired slope and thickness
• Maintain control of speed, feed, and depth of material application
• Assist with handwork or labor duties when equipment is not in use
• Comply with all safety regulations, traffic control procedures, and company policies
• Communicate clearly with crew members and foreman during paving operations
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

• Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment
• Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills
• Must be reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
• CDL license is a plus but not required
• Ability to pass a drug test and adhere to safety standards
• Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed
• Must be willing to travel overnight when projects are outside the local area
