Job summary

Lone Star Paving, a Texas-based paving contractor, seeks a Heavy Paving Equipment/Diesel Mechanic to maintain company-owned tools, equipment and vehicles, with a focus on asphalt milling machines. The role collaborates with Milling, Asphalt, and Maintenance Teams to keep fleet assets in top condition.

The ideal candidate has trade school training or 3–5+ years of experience, strong mechanical skills, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work with others in a dynamic field environment

Qualifications

• Trade school or 3–5+ years of qualified experience.
• Experience with diagnostics, maintenance and operation of asphalt milling machines.
• Organized with a detail-oriented mindset.
• Positive, friendly, and professional; good with others.
• Promote and adhere to safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate condition of defective tools, equipment and fleet vehicles; collaborate to troubleshoot.
• Prepare repair cost estimates and obtain authorization before repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance on company-owned tools, equipment and vehicles; keep logs updated.
• Place approved orders for replacement parts and inform Equipment Manager of deliveries.
• Keep shop orderly and safe; ensure PPE and cleanliness at end of day.
• Support company initiatives to achieve client loyalty.
