Job summary

Lone Star Paving in Central Texas is seeking a Heavy Paving Equipment/Diesel Mechanic to maintain company-owned tools, asphalt milling machines, and fleet vehicles, coordinating with Milling, Asphalt, and Maintenance Teams.

You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, prepare repair estimates, order parts, and maintain thorough service logs, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork in a busy field-and-shop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining asphalt milling machines and paving equipment.
• Must be able to work safely and collaboratively with teams.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable with overtime and travel within Texas.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate condition of defective tools, equipment and fleet vehicles; work with Equipment Manager to diagnose and propose repair solutions.
• Prepare cost estimates for more extensive repairs and obtain authorization before starting work.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools, equipment and vehicles according to a standard schedule; keep accurate maintenance logs.
• Place approved orders for replacement parts and keep Equipment Manager informed of deliveries and paperwork.
• Keep shop area neat, clean, and organized; ensure tools and surfaces are free of debris.
• Support company efforts to achieve client loyalty and assist other projects as needed.
