Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Project Engineer – Pavement to support field paving operations on a major Georgia express lanes project. You will coordinate with superintendents, crews, plants, trucking, and subcontractors to ensure paving is placed to the required grades and quality standards.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, planning widths and lifts, tracking production and quantities, coordinating testing, and maintaining RFIs and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of field experience in infrastructure, roadway, or bridge construction preferred.
• Familiarity with GDOT projects; knowledge of AASHTO/FHWA standards a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to field offices and job sites.
• Proficiency with construction software such as Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, HCSS.

Responsibilities

• Support field paving operations including subgrade, base, asphalt paving, milling, and concrete pavement where applicable.
• Coordinate paving activities with Superintendents, crews, plants, trucking, and subcontractors.
• Review plans, sections, profiles, specifications, grades, and sequencing.
• Plan paving widths, lift thicknesses, joints, and equipment spreads; manage quantities and targets.
• Coordinate asphalt production and delivery to maintain consistent paving output.
• Track tonnage, quantities, production rates, and material usage.
• Verify grades, elevations, transitions, and thickness during paving.
• Coordinate testing and quality requirements for compaction and density.
