Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Project Engineer – Pavement to support field paving operations on a major express lane project in Georgia. You will coordinate with superintendents, paving crews, plants, trucking, and MOT teams to ensure paving meets grades and quality standards.

The role requires a civil/construct­ion background and at least 3 years of field experience in infrastructure projects, with proficiency in Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, and HCSS. Travel to field sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Min 3 years field experience in infrastructure, roadway, or bridge construction.
• Familiarity with GDOT projects and knowledge of AASHTO and FHWA standards a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field offices.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, and HCSS.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and traffic control plans.
• Strong communication and coordination with field and office teams.

Responsibilities

• Support field paving operations including subgrade, soil stabilization, base, asphalt paving, milling, and concrete pavement where applicable.
• Coordinate paving activities with Superintendents, foremen, plants, trucking, and MOT teams.
• Review pavement plans, profiles, grades, specs, and construction sequencing.
• Assist with planning widths, lift thicknesses, joints, lane sequences, and production targets.
• Coordinate asphalt production and delivery to maintain paving production.
• Track quantities, production rates, and quality requirements.
• Ensure grading, cross slopes, elevations, and thickness meet requirements.
• Monitor compaction, density, and surface tolerances; manage look-ahead plans and RFIs.
