Job summary

City of Charlotte is seeking a skilled Pavement Markings Worker in the Transportation Department to install and maintain pavement markings and support traffic control operations. The role involves heavy manual labor and operating specialized marking equipment in varying weather conditions.

Minimum qualifications include one year of related experience and a high school diploma or GED; a Class A CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of work experience with heavy equipment, construction, traffic control, or pavement markings.
• High school diploma or GED required; CDL Class A preferred or required by role.
• Knowledge of MUTCD and road safety rules is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain pavement markings.
• Operate pavement marking tools and equipment.
• Load/unload materials and supplies.
• Maintain detailed work records and daily logs.
• Set up temporary traffic control devices and signs.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE.
