Job summary

iCatalyst, Inc. seeks a Pavement Laboratory Manager to lead the NextGen Materials Laboratory in Egg Harbor, NJ, supporting a federal program. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring local availability with a Monday–Friday schedule.

The role emphasizes accreditation, ASTM/AASHTO/CCRL standards, and rigorous quality controls, with opportunities to advance lab operations and cross-functional collaboration on mission-critical projects.

Qualifications

• PhD or master's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Pavement Engineering, or closely related field with 10 years of experience.
• Expert knowledge of pavement materials testing and laboratory operations.
• Experience maintaining AASHTO laboratory accreditation and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day operation and management of the NextGen Materials Laboratory.
• Maintain AASHTO Accreditation Program (AAP) accreditation and coordinate all accreditation activities.
• Ensure laboratory testing complies with ASTM, AASHTO, CCRL, and laboratory quality requirements.
• Manage laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
• Develop laboratory testing schedules supporting FAA research projects.
• Coordinate laboratory assessments, inspections, proficiency testing, and accreditation renewals.
• Supervise laboratory operations, testing activities, and laboratory personnel.
• Maintain laboratory quality records, calibration documentation, and equipment history.
• Oversee laboratory safety programs, JHAs, and Health & Safety documentation.
• Coordinate laboratory support for NAPTF and NAPMRC research activities.
• Provide support and expertise in assigned domain.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
• Special projects as needed.
