Bergkamp Inc. in Salina, KS is seeking a hands-on Technical Representative I (Heavy Equipment Mechanic) to keep pavement preservation equipment running in both our shop and on customer sites.

You will diagnose, repair, and tune Bergkamp machinery, train customers and teammates, and collaborate with engineering to improve equipment design. Some travel (up to 25%) is required, including weekends, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent as a foundation for technical skills.
• 3–5 years of experience in automotive mechanics, welding, electrical work, or a related field.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Strong technical writing skills to document work clearly and accurately.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Math skills with fractions, decimals, percentages, and basic calculations.
• Comfort using computers and ERP systems to manage service orders and RMAs.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose and repair pavement preservation equipment in shop and field; provide remote support.
• Train customers and team members on operation, maintenance, and repair.
• Lead equipment start-ups and conduct hands-on training for crews.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams; share field insights.
• Support sales by answering technical questions about equipment capabilities.
• Conduct final inspections to ensure quality before shipment.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized workspace and follow safety protocols.
• Stay current with industry knowledge through training and publications.
• Contribute to a strong team culture through active participation.
