Applied Research Associates, Inc. is seeking a staff pavement engineer to support pavement evaluation and structural analysis projects with a focus on design and deflection data analysis from various devices.

You will join a team delivering decision-making information to clients and will work on-site in our Austin, TX office. The role involves collaboration with senior staff, field work nationwide, and handling large datasets from nondestructive pavement testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering from ABET‑accredited school.
• 2+ years of pavement engineering experience; graduate work considered if applicable.
• Proficiency in pavement modeling, design concepts, and data analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior staff and technicians to develop evaluation, design, and rehabilitation strategies.
• Participate in field work, locally and nationwide.
• Work with large datasets from pavement testing to support state DOTs and sponsors.
• Analyze data from FWD, TSDD, GPR and other equipment.
• Prepare deliverables and technical reports.
• Contribute to proposals in response to RFPs.
• Engage in marketing and networking activities.
