Job summary

Weil-McLain is seeking a skilled Chipper to construct, repair, and maintain patterns, core boxes, flasks, and related tooling for mold and core production. You will read blueprints, select materials, and perform precise fabrication using mills, drills, grinders, and welders.

Emphasis on safety and quality checks throughout the process. In this role you will operate metalworking machines, apply finishes, and assist with repairs or alterations as design changes occur.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to compute calculations for materials.
• Ability to work in demanding manufacturing environment.
• Previous manufacturing and/or foundry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Technical Fabrication and Construction: read blueprints, select materials, construct patterns, calculate dimensions, fit to spec.
• Equipment Operation and Tool Use: operate milling/drilling/grinding machines; welders and cutting equipment; use hand tools and measuring devices.
• Maintenance, Alteration, and Safety: perform repairs/alterations, apply finishes, clean machines, use PPE.
