Job summary

SPX Technologies in Michigan City, IN is hiring a Chipper to construct, repair, and maintain patterns and core boxes used in mold production. You will interpret blueprints, select materials, and fabricate to precise specifications.

You will operate mills, drills, welders, grinders, and hand tools, applying finishes and performing repairs as needed. Safety, quality checks, and a clean workspace are essential to success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to compute calculations for materials.
• Ability to work in demanding manufacturing environment.
• Previous manufacturing and/or foundry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints/sketches and plan builds.
• Select materials (lumber, wax, metals) and fabricate patterns/core boxes.
• Operate metalworking machines (milling, drills, grinders) and welding equipment.
• Apply finishes and perform repairs based on design changes.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and use PPE.
