Job summary

The San Francisco Symphony is seeking a Staff Usher for Davies Symphony Hall. This part-time on-site role involves greeting patrons, directing them to seats and ensuring a safe, enjoyable concert experience.

Shifts are predominantly evenings and weekends, around 4 hours each, with start times near 6pm for evening shows and 12:30pm for matinees. The position reports to the Front of House Manager. A flexible schedule is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or guest services preferred.
• Experience as an usher at a performing arts venue is desirable.
• Able to work varied shifts including weeknights and weekends.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage with audience members and ensure they feel welcomed.
• Answer questions and provide timely information about concerts and policies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the venue and upcoming performances.
• Work weeknights, matinees, and weekend shifts, some mornings.
• Follow emergency procedures and assist with crowd management.
