Job summary

Fort Bend County's Library System is seeking a Library Clerk II to be the first point of service for patrons entering the building or calling for assistance, referring to other departments as needed, and handling occasional emergencies with professionalism.

You will assist with training and supervising part-time clerks, manage circulation using the automated system, process holds, loans, and interlibrary loans, and support daily operations including deposits and reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• Two years job-related experience.
• Strong computer and communication skills; ability to learn library software.

Responsibilities

• Serves as first point of service for patrons and handles inquiries.
• Assists with training and supervision of part-time clerks; acts as In-Charge when needed.
• Manages circulation: loans, holds, interlibrary loans, and RFID items.
