Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of related library experience recommended.
• Strong computer and communication skills; ability to learn library software and shelving classifications.
• Ability to interpret policies and handle interruptions while assisting patrons.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of service for patrons entering the building or calling the library for assistance.
• Assist with training and supervision of part-time library clerks.
• Charge/discharge library materials using an integrated library system and handle holds/loans.
• Input and maintain patron data; issue library cards and protect confidentiality.
• Balance accounts and prepare daily deposits and monthly reports.
