Job summary

Brazoria County Libraries is seeking a Library Clerk to support daily public service tasks at the library. You will assist patrons, check materials in and out via the ILS, and help with reference and readers’ advisory services.

You will process payments, maintain reports, and assist with outreach and programs. Evening and weekend work may be required, with strong attention to confidentiality and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Strong ability to use standard business software and equipment.
• Proficiency in data entry and maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons at the public service desk; provide customer service.
• Process check-ins/outs and manage material requests in the ILS.
• Handle overdue, lost, and damaged item procedures and payments.
• Provide readers’ advisory and help use catalogs and resources.
