Job summary

Florence County is seeking a Library Assistant - Circulation to greet visitors, create and maintain patron accounts, and handle check-in/check-out of materials. The role supports daily circulation operations and contributes to a welcoming library environment.

You will assist patrons with catalog searches, provide reader's advisory, help with displays, and participate in ongoing training to stay current with library services.

Qualifications

• High School diploma; 1-2 years of library or customer service experience.
• Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to patrons.
• Greet patrons and maintain a welcoming library atmosphere.
• Check materials in and out and manage patron accounts.
• Assist patrons with catalog searches and reader's advisory.
• Label new materials and assist with repairs of damaged items.
• Assist with displays and meeting room registrations.
• Participate in the library’s ongoing training program.
