Qualifications

  • Must meet POST and California Government Code Section 1031 criteria.

Responsibilities

  • Patrols assigned areas by car, motorcycle, bicycle, or on foot to preserve law and order.
  • Responds to calls for protection of life, property, and general public service; conducts investigations.
  • Prepares and serves warrants; apprehends offenders; controls crowds and traffic at events.
  • Directs traffic during emergencies and special events; provides public safety information.
  • Testifies in court and prepares evidence; performs related duties to support enforcement services.
  • Trains and assists less experienced personnel; may serve as Field Training Officer.
