• Experience: None required.
• Sixty-semester units of college-level studies with major course work in police science or related field (e.g., liberal arts, business, psychology, or political science).
• Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a California Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Patrol city areas in radio-equipped cars, respond to calls to protect lives and property.
• Make arrests as necessary; interview victims, complainants, and witnesses; interrogate suspects; gather and preserve evidence; testify and present evidence in court.
• Prepare reports of arrests, activities, and incidents.
• Stop drivers violating laws; issue citations and make arrests as needed.
• Maintain contact with citizens and preserve good relations with the public.
