The Covina Police Department is seeking candidates for Pre-Service Police Officer to establish an Eligibility List for filling future vacancies. This position involves upholding the law, conducting investigations, and engaging with the community, with possibilities for specialized assignments and field training.

Formación

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and be 21 years old by appointment.
• Graduate of a CA POST Certified Police Academy or currently enrolled.
• Possession of a valid Class C California driver’s license and U.S. citizenship or eligible for citizenship.
• POST certificate must be attached to the employment application.

Responsabilidades

• Patrol assigned areas and conduct investigations.
• Enforce traffic laws and manage traffic/accidents.
• Train and assist personnel; may serve as Field Training Officer or in specialized programs.
• Coordinate investigations; collect evidence; testify in court; prepare reports.
• Respond to public inquiries and establish relationships with community organizations and agencies.
