The City of Indianapolis is seeking experienced Lateral Police Officer candidates who are currently employed as full-time officers with patrol responsibilities and who hold a current State LE Academy Certification. Residency in Indiana and a clean record are required.

The role includes patrol duties, investigations, arrests, testimony, and continuous training. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be US citizens aged 21–39.

Qualifications

• Must have current LE Training Academy Certification in the State of current employment
• Must document at least one year of paid, full-time law enforcement service after certification from another state
• Employed full-time as a sworn officer with primary patrol responsibilities as described

Responsabilités

• Patrol assigned areas by vehicle and foot, maintaining high visibility for crime prevention.
• Investigate hazardous conditions, conduct initial crime investigations, and assist detectives as needed.
• Arrest or detain suspects, testify in court, and document incidents and evidence.
• Maintain uniform, equipment and vehicle, attend in-service and firearms training, and perform duties as directed.

Valid Indiana Driver's License

U.S. Citizenship

Age 21–39
