Job summary

City of Universal City is hiring qualified police officer candidates who want to provide Excellence in Service to our community. This full‑time position involves 12‑hour shifts, overtime as needed, and offers competitive salary, retirement structure, health benefits, and various incentives.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or equivalent, a current Texas peace officer certification (or higher), and a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with TCOLE certification.
• Valid Texas driver’s license is mandatory.
• Candidates must meet department qualifications and pass pre‑employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas to direct traffic and enforce traffic regulations.
• Conduct routine patrols, preliminary investigations, and traffic control duties.
• Investigate suspicious activity and respond to calls with dispatch.
• Make arrests and issue citations when laws are broken.
• Keep records, prepare reports, and testify in court when required.
• Maintain professional interactions with the public and colleagues.
