Job summary

Washington City Police Department seeks a Police Officer I–III to patrol city streets, enforce laws, and protect residents. You will respond to emergencies, secure scenes, conduct investigations, and prepare reports for court proceedings.

This role requires physical fitness, solid communication skills, and a solid grounding in law enforcement practices. Opportunities span from entry-level to advanced officer classifications with comprehensive department training.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures and equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to react to emergency, life-and-death situations with composure.

Responsibilities

• Patrols Washington City to deter crime and check security of locations.
• Responds to calls, secures scenes and conducts preliminary investigations.
• Controls traffic, issues citations and assists motorists as needed.
• Serves processes and subpoenas; escorts inmates per procedure.
• Completes reports and testifies in court when required.
