Job summary

City of Maypearl Police Department seeks a Lieutenant of Police to supervise the Patrol Division and assist in administration, operation, and supervision of the department. The role includes planning, directing, and coordinating activities while ensuring staffing, training, and policy compliance.

The Lieutenant oversees Field Training Officers, coordinates with the Criminal Investigation Division, and helps develop long-range goals.

Qualifications

• Five years of law enforcement experience as a full-time officer in Texas.
• One year experience as a police supervisor in the next lower grade or comparable grade.
• Applicable valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Current and Valid TCOLE Peace Officer license.

Responsibilities

• Supervises sworn officers assigned to the patrol division; ensures staffing and coverage; monitors performance and approves leave.
• Advises and coaches patrol supervisors to meet division and department goals.
• Oversees the Field Training Officer program and PPO evaluations after training.
• Collaborates with the Criminal Investigation Division to meet departmental goals.
