Job summary

National Police is seeking a Deputy Sheriff to perform general law enforcement, apprehend criminals, and protect life and property in Harvey County. The role requires strict adherence to state and federal laws, department policies, and maintaining professional conduct in all interactions.

The position involves conducting investigations, collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and providing court testimony as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified Police Officer in accordance with KCPOST.
• Meet academic and physical requirements for peace officer training.
• Pass pre-employment and post-offer testing including background check, drug screen and psych exam.
• Maintain valid law enforcement license as defined by state statutes.
• Certifications required within specified timeframe: CPR/First Aid, Intoxylizer 9000, Radar, MDT, NCIC, SFST, Firearms, Use of force, Taser, Less Lethal Munitions, Baton.

Responsibilities

• Answers emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Prevents crimes, enforces laws, and protects life and property.
• Intervenes to prevent crimes and makes arrests as needed.
• Conducts preliminary investigations and gathers evidence.
• Detains suspects with proper legal procedures and serves warrants.
• Completes reports and provides testimony when required.
