Job summary

The Harvey County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Patrol Deputy. Our Office is looking for a proactive and dedicated individual to join our family and serve the citizens of Harvey County.

Harvey County Deputies work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including weekends and holidays, with overtime as assigned. Salary ranges from $26.49 to $35.62 per hour, and benefits include uniforms and equipment, plus single or family health/dental/vision coverage.

Qualifications

• Must have or be able to obtain certification as a law enforcement officer issued through the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC).
• Must be a United States citizen.
• Must be 21 years of age upon date of hire.
• Must reside within 30 minutes of the Harvey County line.

Responsibilities: Provides law enforcement and public safety services to all of Harvey County. Enforcement of criminal statutes, traffic statutes, accident investigations and other non-criminal public safety services.

Requirements: Must be a United States citizen. Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must be 21 years of age upon date of hire. Must not have committed or been convicted of, had a conviction expunged for or been placed on diversion by any state or federal agency for a felony or domestic violence crime. Must possess a valid driver’s license prior to beginning employment. Must reside within 30 minutes of the Harvey County line. Must have or be able to obtain certification as a law enforcement officer issued through the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC).

Work Schedule: Patrol schedule includes rotating 12-hour shifts, weekends, holidays and assigned overtime shifts. Patrol shifts are supervised by a Patrol Sergeant on each shift.

Salary Range: ($26.49/hour - $35.62/hour), with lateral pay considerations for certified applicants.
