Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; degree preferred in Fire Science or EMS.
• MI Firefighter II Certificate or equivalent certification.
• EMT or Advanced EMT license (or NR-EMT) and eligible for MI licensure.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited paramedic program.
• CPAT or equivalent agility test within 12 months of application.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Candidates must submit original degrees and licenses at interview.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies and provide pre-hospital care as directed.
• Engage in fire suppression, rescue, and vehicle extrication as required.
• Perform scene safety, patient assessment, and initial treatment.
• Operate firefighting equipment and assist in salvage operations.
• Attend in-service trainings and SOP updates for firefighting and EMS.
• Maintain equipment and apparatus in proper working order.
