Job summary

The City of Lancaster, PA seeks sworn police officers to protect life and property, prevent crime, and enforce laws. You will patrol, investigate, control traffic, and work with a diverse community to maintain safety and trust.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or completion of a GED is required.
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania State Driver’s License is required.
• Applicants must possess valid employment authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive patrol in assigned beat.
• Observes for criminal activity, safety hazards, traffic violations, and assists the public.
• Identifies and arrests offenders and conducts searches of person, vehicles, and places.
• Enforces traffic and parking laws, including DUI detection and enforcement.
• Directs and supervises civilian employees at scenes of crimes, accidents, and disasters.
• Prepares clear, accurate reports on activities and investigations.
