Job summary

Southeast Texas HR in Beaumont, TX is hiring a Temporary Verification Clerk/Scheduler to pre-register patients, verify demographics and insurance, and schedule all tests and surgeries in a timely manner.

This position runs Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with pay at $16.00 per hour, DOE. Candidates should have 2–3 years in insurance verification and scheduling, plus excellent communication and data-entry accuracy.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of related experience in insurance verification, and scheduling diagnostic testing and surgery.
• High School Diploma or higher.
• 2 years of Medical Office experience in a doctor's office or hospital.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must be able to obtain your immunization records.

Responsibilities

• Receives orders from physician offices and confirms patient demographics are accurate and complete.
• Verifies insurance with respect to services ordered using provided software and web access.
• Determines financial responsibility and collects upfront payments when applicable.
• Determines authorization requirements and ensures authorizations are on file and accurate.
• Ensures demographics and financial information are entered correctly in HIS and other software.
• Communicates problems regarding verification, scheduling, financial counseling, or patient satisfaction to supervisor.
