Job summary

Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, AZ seeks an entry-level Patient Transporter to move patients safely between beds, surgery, therapy, and radiology, and to retrieve records, supplies, and medications.

You will follow PPE requirements, maintain and clean equipment, assist with parking, and support clinical staff. A high school diploma or GED is preferred; Heartsaver CPR certification and an AZ driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety practices for transporting personnel.
• Ability to read simple instructions and document times accurately.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients.
• Ability to adhere to PPE requirements and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits excellence in customer service and interaction with visitors and staff.
• Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs, or stretchers.
• Transports patients to and from clinical, ancillary, and support areas as directed.
• Collects specimens, cultures, non-narcotic medications, orders, and requisitions and delivers items to destinations.
• Completes assignment log and obtains authorized signatures for each assignment.
• Drives patient vehicles as a valet service and assists patients at hospital entrances.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
