Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Patient Transporter to move inpatients and outpatients safely across our campus with exceptional customer service. You will verify patient IDs, greet patients, and assist with transfers while observing patient condition and reporting concerns to staff.

You’ll use proper lifting techniques, operate equipment like wheelchairs and IV poles, and help with patient hygiene and comfort. A HS diploma and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
• American Heart Association BLS Card is required.

Responsibilities

• Responds quickly to calls for patient transportation.
• Verifies patient location and transfers patients and medications accurately.
• Uses proper lifting techniques and handles equipment safely (wheelchairs, IV poles, oxygen carts).
• Assists in patient care tasks (changing bed linen, patient hygiene, nourishment).
• Notifies maintenance for equipment repairs and cleans wheelchairs and stretchers.
• Keeps patients informed about wait times and next steps.
