Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Tyler, TX is seeking a Part-Time Transporter to transport patients safely to inpatient beds and to departments such as admitting, surgery, therapy, or radiology. You will retrieve medical records, lab results, supplies, and medications as required and help maintain and clean equipment.

Multiple shifts are available. The role requires knowledge of patient safety, transportation equipment, infection control, clerical tasks, excellent telephone etiquette, and strong communication

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• BLS certification required.

Job description

Summary:

Transports patients to their inpatient bed and/or to and from other areas such as admitting, surgery, therapy or radiology in a safe and timely manner. Retrieves medical records, lab results, supplies and medications as required. Prioritizes duties to facilitate department flow. Maintains and cleans equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures that established safety procedures are followed throughout the transportation process.
• Monitors the proper functioning of all transportation equipment on a daily basis.
• Knowledge of patient safety, basic transportation equipment, infection control processes, clerical skills, excellent telephone etiquette, and good communication and organizational skills.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• BLS
