Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Transporter to move patients within the facility, ensuring safety and comfort during transport. You will verify patient IDs and document transport events using electronic systems.

The role requires excellent communication and customer service skills, with optional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 6 months if not already held. This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week and shift details to follow.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated customer service experience.
• Ability to assess equipment status and determine safe routes within hospital.
• Completion of safe patient handling training within one month of start date.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds using proper body mechanics.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety; verify patient identification; document transport actions in system.
• Transport equipment and supplies as needed; disinfect and inspect transport gear before/after use.
