Job summary

Dignity Health Mercy Medical Center in Merced, California, is seeking a Patient Transporter to provide essential patient and item transportation across the campus, delivering a highly customer-sensitive and seamless experience.

You will move inpatients and outpatients between areas, confidently identify and greet patients, and report concerns to the care team. Maintain a clean workspace and safe handling of equipment using SBAR and AIDET practices.

Qualifications

• BLS/CPR certification required at hire.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in medical office or hospital environment preferred.
• Experience with computers and safe patient handling devices advised.

Responsibilities

• Transport inpatients and outpatients between hospital areas in a safe, timely manner.
• Identify patients, greet them, and assist with transfers; report issues to clinical staff.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Support imaging procedures by preparing rooms and assisting technologists as needed.
• Communicate with staff in a professional, respectful manner and assist as workload permits.
