Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is seeking a Transport Associate to move patients and related items across hospital locations, coordinating with nursing staff to ensure safe, efficient transport. This role emphasizes accuracy, patient comfort, and adherence to AIDET during hand-offs.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, 16+ years of age, and a BLS certification at hire. Some weekend coverage and variable shifts (days/evenings) may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum age 16.
• BLS Basic Life Support required at hire.
• Healthcare/transport experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients and items between hospital locations and departments.
• Ensure patient comfort and privacy; stay with patient; provide hand-off to nurse.
• Verify patient information using two forms of ID; ensure correct ID bracelet.
• Notify departments of delays within five minutes of delays for scheduled procedures.
• Maintain daily transport logs with departure/arrival times and equipment transported.
