Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Patient Transporter to provide essential patient and equipment transport across the campus. You will promptly and safely move inpatients and outpatients between rooms and departments, confirm patient IDs, greet patients, and assist with transfers while monitoring patient condition.

You will maintain a clean transport area, report equipment issues, and uphold the hospital’s standards of care and professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications

• CPR/BLS certification required or within 14 days of hire.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Transports inpatients and outpatients to and from patient rooms, ERs, recovery rooms, ICUs, clinics and Radiology as observed by the supervisor.
• Confirms patient identification, greets and assists with transfers, and ensures safe transport by wheelchair, stretcher or bed.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the transport workspace and reports malfunctioning equipment.
