Job summary

Fort Loudoun Medical Center, part of Covenant Health, seeks a Transporter in Diagnostic Radiology to move patients and supplies safely within the imaging department on a day shift. This full-time position supports patient flow and imaging operations.

Responsibilities include transporting patients to and from destinations, assisting with oxygen, isolation precautions, and transfer techniques, and using wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: HS diploma or GED (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from destinations. Accommodates varying degrees of complexity (oxygen, isolation precautions, CPR, lifting and transfer techniques) using wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds.
• Monitors and utilizes the patient flow board for assignments.
• Performs defined safety protocols (e.g., double identification, isolation procedures, equipment maintenance and cleaning).
• Maintains open lines of communication between patients, family, physicians, peers, and leadership.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards; completes required education; supports quality initiatives as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
