Position Summary

Responsible for transporting patients, specimens, and equipment within the facility. Moves patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed, including those with oxygen tanks, IVs, and other equipment. Coordinates transport activities and responds to alerts to support emergent situations. Assists patients and staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely and efficiently as directed.
• Maintain and store transport equipment.
• Complete training and attend departmental meetings.
• Manage traffic control around the healthcare facility.
• Use transport software to support patient throughput.
• Coordinate activities in discharged patient holding areas.
• Handle portable oxygen cylinders safely.
• Prepare transport equipment and document assignments.
• Perform safety checks and follow infection control protocols during transport.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1 year customer service experience
• Strong customer service skills and compassionate demeanor
• Knowledge of basic office and medical equipment
• Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Certification (Pennsylvania) within 180 days
• American Heart Association BLS Certification within 180 days
• Driver's License for Pennsylvania upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical School Diploma or Associate’s Degree

Physical Demands

Ability to lift/carry 25 lbs., sit/stand frequently, and perform activities such as kneeling, bending, and CPR as required.
