Job summary

Texas Health Plano is seeking a Patient Transporter in the Mission Control Department on a part-time, rotating schedule. The role involves transporting patients, paperwork, and belongings, assisting with patient dressing, and ensuring proper handling of supplies and equipment.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and may prefer 6 months of patient transport experience. BCLS certification is required prior to independent patient care and must be maintained quarterly.

Responsibilities

• Transport patient care equipment as necessary.
• Assist with admissions, dismissals, and transfers to test areas within standards.

Work hours: This part-time position is scheduled for 24 hours per week, consisting of three 8-hour shifts on a rotating schedule Sunday through Saturday, based on departmental staffing needs.

Here’s What You Need

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required
• 6 months of patient transport experience Preferred
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req
  

What You Will Do

• Transport patients, paperwork and patient belongings from assigned areas.
• Transfer and lift assistance
• Assist patients with dressing appropriately for procedures.
• Follow proper protocol for use and organization of supplies, equipment and supply room.
• Responsible for cleaning, locating, and maintaining transport equipment.
• Assist patients and visitors by providing information and directions.
• Assist with transporting patient care equipment as necessary.
• Transport patients, paperwork and patient belongings during admissions, dismissals, and transfers to and from test areas within set standards. May assist patients in dressing appropriately for procedures.
• Orthopedic traction set-ups as well as inventory of orthopedic supplies and equipment.
• Transport to/from special areas as assigned.
• Follow proper protocol for use and organization of supplies, equipment and supply room.
• Transport equipment, clean linen, late trays and other requested items to all areas of the facility within set standards.
• Assist patients and visitors by providing information and directions.
• Adhere to appropriate Isolation Universal Precaution Policy.
• Complies with hand washing hygiene guidelines and use of personal protective equipment.
