Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Beverly, MA, seeks a dependable Patient Transporter to move patients, oxygen, medications, and specimens across the hospital, while collecting wheelchairs and stretchers as needed.

You will log transport data, perform oxygen rounds, handle specimens, and participate in equipment dispatch and inventory, with safety protocols and PPE usage. BLS required within 90 days; high school diploma preferred. Vaccination against influenza is required.

Qualifications

• Attending or graduate of high school (or equivalent).
• No experience required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to specified destinations, using required equipment, notify department staff of arrivals and departures, and return equipment to storage area.
• Records all patient transportation data in departmental logs.
• Records arrival and delivery information of Radiology patients in EPIC.
• Performs oxygen rounds, replaces empty tanks, and reports any tank damage.
• Transports specimens, medications, etc., safely and logs delivery information with PPE as needed.
• Report, tag and remove defective equipment, notify Supervisor, and deliver to Plant Operations; clean equipment within two hours of return.
• Wheelchairs and stretchers are replaced to locations; conduct inventory rounds twice daily.
• Perform dispatch functions using the priority list and record all calls with required details.
