Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 16 years or older at time of application.
• Previous hospital experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
• Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identification prior to transport.
• Safely transports patients between departments using stretchers, wheelchairs, or beds.
• Maintains hand hygiene to support safety.
• Transport of patients within 18–20 minutes to designated areas.
• Transports lab specimens, X-ray reports, and medical records as needed.
• Monitors patient oxygen and IV lines during transport for safety.
• Discharges patients following proper procedures and escorts to exit.
• Assists with equipment handling and infection prevention guidelines.
