Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a Part-time Patient Transporter to join the SSH Patient Transport team. Under the supervision of the Manager, you will provide prompt, courteous service to patients and visitors while safely transporting patients, specimens, and equipment across departments.

You must be able to move or lift patients and equipment, communicate effectively with staff, and work the weekend shift (Saturday and Sunday 3pm-11:30pm and holidays).

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
• Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.
• Weekend Evening shift: Saturday, Sunday and Holiday 3pm to 11:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports patients between departments using stretchers, wheelchairs, and beds.
• Picks up patients and transports them to designated areas within 18–20 minutes.
• Assists with maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly patient environment.
• Answers phone and dispatches services as needed, prioritizing nursing needs.
