Skills:
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Ability to transport and transfer patients including morgue patients.
• Ability to work well under time constraints and to work effectively as a team member.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Manual dexterity required for handling patients, equipment and supplies.
• Ability to push, pull, tug or lift to 50 pounds.
• Ability to lift patients and carry items, supplies and equipment.
• Ability to stand, bend, walk and push for extended periods of time.
• Ability to transport patients, up to 250 lbs., unaided. For patients over 250 lbs., assistance is available to assigned transporter.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Transports patients, specimens, equipment and supplies throughout the Medical Center, utilizing stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, cardiac chairs and other transport equipment.
• Assists in lifting or placing patients onto and out of the transport conveyance, securing patient onto equipment, ensuring patient has identification band, and checking same to ensure correct patient is being transported. Ensures patient dignity and privacy are maintained by draping patient appropriately.
• Maintains cleanliness of stretchers and related transport equipment.
• Transports and locates a variety of equipment, specimens, and supplies to and from designated areas.

Pay Range
$15.00 - $20.00Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
