Patient Transporter

Position located at South Georgia Medical Center Health, 2501 North Patterson Street, Valdosta, GA 31602. Full‑time and part‑time positions available. Shift schedule: Monday‑Friday 7:00 am–8:00 pm; weekends 7:00 am–5:30 pm. Pay rate $13.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment, and related items within the hospital.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely, securing IVs, drainage tubes, and other devices.
• Use wheelchairs and approved rolling stock to perform duties.
• Transport all age groups with competence.
• Ensure timely and accurate transport using proper equipment.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, clinicians, technicians, and dispatch.
• Maintain patient comfort; offer blankets, maintain modesty, and engage appropriately.
• Notify nursing staff of patient distress or equipment malfunction immediately.
• Maintain and report malfunctioning equipment.
• Comply with regulatory and hospital standards (federal, state, JCAHO).
• Adhere to HIPAA confidentiality and patient rights policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
